“Cooking is like love, it should be entered into with abandon or not at all.”
Harriet Van Horne, ‘Vogue’ 10/1956
Food has been a jilted lover, a forgiving friend, a companion, it has been nourishment and sickness.
I like most women had had my issues in my youth and with dancing I wanted to be as small as possible, in my twenties I looked to make amends with my body and looked to fuel myself for triathalons and various endurance events, in my early thirties I grew smart and took cooking classes at the Natural Gourmet School in NYC. When money ran out I kept learning by volunteering on the side and continued working full time in the fashion industry.
Today I still work full time in fashion, teach yoga 3-5x a week, continue to train with my teachers and have a wonderful personal life as well. Food is more important than ever, it can keep me running or have me crashing and feeling sluggish. The following pages are what I have discovered are quick , easy, and nourishing ways to sustain myself.
I hope you enjoy your time in the kitchen as much as I- but more so I hope you are sitting down to enjoy your meals with those you love!!!
